Trenchless Pipe Repair

Don't Excavate...Rehabilitate!  Sewer line repair doesn't have to be synonymous with destroyed yards or driveways.  Nor does it mean loss of revenue for commercial enterprises. Trenchless pipe repair virtually eliminates the disruption and mess caused by traditional repair methods that require trench digging.

We offer two types of trenchless pipe repair:  pipe re-lining, using the Perma-Lateral Lining System, and pipe bursting, using the Pipe Genie process.  Snowbridge will assist the client in determining which method of pipe repair will work best in his or her situation.

Both processes offer the following advantages over traditional pipe repair:

  • Quicker - Two to three days total (including no more than five hours at a time without the use of your sewer system).
  • Environmentally friendly.
  • Minimal damage to your yard, driveway, street, concrete floor or parking lot.
  • New pipe seals out roots and stops infiltration, thereby increasing sewage flow efficiency.

Pipe Re-Lining

Snowbridge is a certified installer of Permaliner's Perma-Lateral trenchless pipe-relining system.  This method creates a "pipe within a pipe" to repair a broken or cracked pipe made of virtually any material, including cast, clay, and PVC, without extensive excavation or property damage.  The Perma-Lateral Lining System is NSF Standard-14 certified and IAPMO-approved to meet plumbing code requirements.

Because only one access hole is needed, we can avoid digging through floors, streets, driveways, sidewalks and lawns.  In fact, sometimes the re-lining process is the only way to easily repair the pipe.  Examples are broken pipes under concrete floors, expensive trees or in commercial buildings, such as hospitals or restaurants, that cannot be shut down while extensive repair work is being done.

Any pipe material from 3" to 8" in diameter and 100 feet in either direction from the access point can be repaired with this environmentally safe process.  Using a chemical-resistant resin-impregnated material coated with PVC, the liner creates a jointless, smooth, continuous inner coating that is actually stronger than the original pipe.

We can also patch small sections of broken pipe under concrete slabs and other inaccessible areas using the "Perma Patch" re-lining system.

Pipe Bursting

trenchless pipe repairPipe bursting is a cost-effective method of replacing an old sewer line with new pipe of the same or larger inner diameter.

This system, which requires two access holes, is most effective when the original pipe has lost its cylindrical shape or has noticeable low spots or when the size of the pipe needs to be increased.  It is also best when extremely long sections need to be replaced or when two sections of pipe are off-set more than one inch.  In addition, it is also helpful when two different pipe materials have been used (i.e., clay and PVC).

The Pipe Genie system uses 40,000 pounds of hydraulic pulling power to pull a hardened steel splitting head attached to  new high-density polyethelene (HDPE) pipe through the original pipe, which is "bursted" into the surrounding soil.
